Don’t be a bystander, be a friend – NKBL Youth Workshop

15th January 2018
by Emily Beever

Each year, No Knives, Better Lives hosts two network events for partners. Our last network event in September was an unconference for practitioners to get together and discuss positive prevention. It was a great event and sparked a lot of discussions in our team.

Our second network event is designed exclusively for young people and accompanying youth/support workers. The event on Saturday 24th February will be an interactive workshop, facilitated by Graham Goulden, on exploring how to help in difficult situations. It will take place in The Albany Learning and Conference Centre, Glasgow.

Why do we often fail to act when we witness problematic behaviours? What makes particular behaviour problematic? Do we ever ask ourselves what are the possible consequences of not acting?

This one-day workshop will explore these questions and participants’ core values. By immersing participants in the role of a bystander, it will inspire them to act in difficult situations. It will help participants become the friend they truly are.

The event will kick off at 10am and run until 4pm. It is free to attend with lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day.

Spaces are limited so we encourage you to book soon.

Book your place here.
